Oculon launches Iris
Iris went live on its first firm websites today, with one job: answer the 11pm inquiry like someone was listening.
The launch is the end of a long beginning. Before writing a line of code, we spent the better part of a year watching how law firms lose clients. Not in court. In the hours nobody sees: the injuries that happen on Friday nights, the arrests at 2am, the custody questions that surface after bedtime. Every one of those people goes looking for a lawyer that same night. Almost every firm they find is closed.
What shipped
After-hours intake. Iris embeds directly on the firm's own site — nothing for a visitor to download, no separate number to call — and opens a full intake conversation at any hour of any night, the moment someone would otherwise have left a form and hoped.
Lead qualification. Every conversation is scored against the firm's own qualified/not-qualified line, not a generic one, with the reasons behind the score attached rather than a bare label. Conversations that raise something urgent are flagged separately, so they don't wait behind the rest of the queue.
Attorney email summaries. One page, same format every time, sent as soon as the conversation is captured rather than batched into a digest — so the brief is sitting in the inbox by morning, not generated by a job that runs once a day.
The firm dashboard. Every conversation and every lead in one place, with the full transcript attached to each one — so a summary is a starting point, not the only record of what was said.
What comes next
The first firms are running Iris with real traffic, and the plan has not changed: learn from real conversations, then improve in the open. Releases are announced in this newsroom with dates, and the pilot program is the way onto the product.
One conversation, one summary, one night shift at a time.
